Vermicomposting is the process in which worms turn organic wastes into very high quality compost. Certain species of worms such as Red Wigglers are a species of earthworm adapted to decaying organic material. These worms thrive in rotting vegetation and compost. The worms create Vermicast also called worm castings is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by the worms. Vermicompost contains water-soluble nutrients and it is an excellent, nutrient-rich organic fertilizer and soil conditioner.
